Welcome to the All inPlay Champ Prediction Contest

Quick Description

This is a contest where paying Members get to predict who they think the top ten players of the Tournament of Champions will be. The Member who predicts the most accurately will win some cool prizes, bragging rights, and the illustrious title of "All inPlay psychic" <smile>.

Detailed Description

The All inPlay Champ Prediction Contest allows all those who aren't in the Tournament of Champions a chance to play their *own* game. This makes sure that the tournament is fun for everyone!

Here's how it works. If you're a Member who isn't playing in the Tournament of Champions, you're eligible to play in this contest. At the bottom of this page you'll find a form where you can make your predictions for who will come in 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and on through 10th in the tournament. Be sure to submit your predictions before the deadline (listed below). Please note that if multiple submissions are made by the same Member, the most recent one (sent in before the deadline) will be considered the official submission. All others submissions will not be taken into consideration.

You'll earn points based on how accurate your predictions are:

* For each rank you guess correct, you'll earn 100 points. Example: You
predict JaneSmith will come in 5th and she does. You earn 100 points for that prediction.

* For each rank you're off by one, you'll earn 50 points. Example: You
predict SillyGuy will come in 6th place, but SillyGuy comes in 7th. You
were off by 1 rank so you earn 50 points for that prediction.

* For each rank you're off by two, you'll earn 25 points. Example: You
predict BobbySue will come in 10th, but she ends up 8th. You were
off by two ranks so you earn 25 points for that prediction.

* Predictions off by more than two ranks earn you zero points. Example: you Predict MrPoker will come in 3rd, but he ends up in 10th. You were off by 7 ranks so you earn 0 points for that prediction.

* If you guess the #1 player right, you'll earn an extra 200 points.

* If you guess the #2 player right, you'll earn an extra 100 points.

* If you guess the #3 player right, you'll earn an extra 50 points.

* You may not pick the same player to win multiple ranks. Only the highest rank for a given Champ will be considered valid, all other entries will be ignored. Example: You predict that JoeSmoe will come in 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th. Only your prediction for 1st place will be considered, and you cannot win any points for predictions on 2nd, 3rd, and 4th place.

Prizes

The player who earns the most points wins 100,000 chips and the title of "All inPlay psychic." This title means Members should feel free to go to this person and ask their predictions for all things poker related <smile>.

The player with the second highest point total wins 50,000 chips.

The player with the third highest point total wins 25,000 chips.

If chips are not desirable by a winner, they can let All inPlay know and we'll work out something more fun.

Timeline

August 20 (Saturday), noon US Eastern (1600 GMT):

Deadline for contestants to submit their predictions.

August 27 (Saturday):

All inPlay will post the final results of the contest and announce the top three ranking players. Prizes will be distributed within 48 hours.

Rules and Legal Stuff

* There is no fee to participate in the contest and it is open to all paying members who are not playing in the relevant Tournament of Champions.
* If multiple submissions are made by the same Member, the most recent one (sent in before the deadline) will be considered the official submission. All others submissions will not be taken into consideration.
* Members with gift memberships, or memberships sponsored by All inPlay are considered paying members.
* Each All inPlay account that is paid up may participate and be used by whomever the account owner wishes.
* This tournament is void where prohibited. We don't know where that is, but hey, if you live there, you should know! <smile>
* All decisions by All inPlay concerning removal of players believed to be cheating or disrupting the game are final.
* Employees and the families of employees of the Sponsors and All inPlay are not eligible for prizes (but are allowed to participate in the event and earn bragging rights).
* All decisions by All inPlay concerning prize distribution are final.

By averaging each contestant's individual predictions together, we were able to determine the "Collective" prediction of the community.

Please note that if a contestant made any of the errors mentioned in sections above, the word "Boo Boo" appears instead of their erroneous prediction.
