Details
Qualifying
Round:
The qualifying round starts on Friday, November 12th, at 4:00 p.m. US Eastern (1:00 PM US Pacific, 2100
GMT) and continues for twenty-four hours.
Each player starts with 100,000 marbles. The four players with the most marbles at the end of this event will go on to the finals round. A variety of other prizes will be available, including door prizes and prizes for players in the top ten ranks. Be sure not to lose all your marbles though <grin>.
The
Finals:
The top four paying members from the qualifying round will go on to the Finals. The finals will take place later on in the winter at a date that is to-be-announced. The
finalists will join All inPlay cofounder
Paul G. Silva at a private table at a pre-arranged date and time
and compete in an intense game of the All
inPlay original "Elimination" rules for Poker Tournaments.
Here's how the elimination rules work...
* The game starts off with all players (and the observer, Paul) sitting at a special, private table.
*
Each player begins the tournament with 100 bars of gold.
*
This table's betting rules are *no limit*, meaning players can bet as much as they like!
* At the beginning of the 30th hand, if there are still four players in the game, the player with the fewest gold bars will be eliminated, forcing them to leave the table with whatever gold bars they still posses.
* At the beginning of the 40th hand, if there are still three players in the game, the player with the lowest chip count will be eliminated.
* There will then be a ten minute break.
*
The two remaining players will move to a new table with a much higher ante.
* The winner will be the player able to bankrupt the last remaining opponent.
*AND* the
game's progress will be broadcast live online so anyone interested
can listen in <smile>.
All finalists will
be invited to the finals via email (via the address they have
registered with their All inPlay account). Those who do not
accept the invitation by the deadline indicated in the email
will not be able to participate in the finals. Their spot
will be offered to the next highest scoring paying member
from the qualifying round. It is the Finalist's responsibility
to make sure that their computers and Internet connections
are functioning properly so that they may participate in the
Finals - the moderator of the finals will *not* wait for late
players. Players who disconnect from the finals match must, sadly, be disqualified to ensure a fair game for all other players.

Frequently
Asked Questions About Tournaments
Q) How do I sign
up for the Tournament?
A) We don't like
making people have to fill out unnecessary forms, so all paying
members are automatically signed up so they can play if they
want to. Please note, however, that you do need to have a
valid email address in order to play in the tournament. If
you don't have a valid email address and you win, we have
no way to reach you! If you have not validated your email,
then you will be asked to when you try to join the tournament.
If you would like to validate
your email address now, you can do so on the my
account page.
Q) The tournament
lasts a while; do I need to play for the whole time?
A) Not at all!
We have the tournaments run for such a long time so that people
in all time zones have a fair chance at a convenient time
for them to play, but you can play as much (or as little)
as you like. When you leave a tournament table, your tournament
chips/points are placed in a special virtual vault and kept
safe until you need them again. This allows you to hop from
table to table or take a several-hour break (naps are highly
recommended! <smile>) and still have your winnings waiting
for you when you come back.
Q) Where will
the qualifying tournament take place?
A) On a special tournament server, a link to this server will appear on the Play Poker and Play Crazy Eights pages during the event to allow easy access.
Q) Are the qualifying
tournament tables different from the normal tables?
A) Yes, details to-be-announced.
