Hold'em Help
Texas Hold'em is a popular version of poker played around the world.
The object is simple: win as many poker chips from your buddies as you can.
The Basics:
You are dealt two cards that only you can see. A round of betting follows. Next, three cards (the "flop") are turned face up on the table; these are community cards, all players may use these as part of their hands. A round of betting follows, after that another community card (known as "the turn" or "fourth street") is turned face up. Then there's another round of betting, after which a final community card (known as "the river" or "fifth street") is exposed. After a final round of betting, remaining hands are compared to determine the winner. Each player uses the five community cards and the two cards he or she was dealt to make the best five-card hand possible.
How to Play All inPlay Hold'em:
- Browse to the Play Hold'em page (available in the top navbar)
- Click on a table to launch the game. If no
one else is at the table, it usually only requires waiting a few minutes before someone joins you.
- Once the game has begun, use 'h' to review the cards in your hand and the 'b' key to review the common ('board') cards, if there are any.
- When it is your turn:

To "Call" (put in the minimum chips needed to stay in the hand) press 'c'
* To "Bet" or "Raise" (increases the number of chips others must put into the pot in order to stay in stay in the hand) type the number of chips you want to bet and then hit the 'enter' key
* To "Fold" (forfeits the hand, but keeps you at the table to join the next hand) press 'f'
