Volunteer Greeter Requirements
Purpose
The purpose of this web page is to list the full requirements of the Volunteer Greeter Team. This to help potential new greeters better understand the team and what skills and attributes help make a great greeter.
Overview
The Volunteer Greeters will be a group of volunteers from the community who wish to help few members and free trial users learn the ropes of the games, make friends, and join the wider All inPlay community. These are people who are patient, kind, and are the sorts of people who have FUN teaching and helping new people feel welcome.
The day-to-day organization and running of the team is handled by our volunteer greeter team leader Cotton Blossom (click this link to read her profile). The team leader reports directly to All inPlay's community director, Paul G. Silva. The community director sets the big-picture direction of the group and is the group's direct interface with All inPlay.
Team Description
The folks who are members of the Greetert team are people who have enough free time, enough interest, and enough skill (as determined by All inPlay) to work together in a team environment to help newbies and each other. Greeters are able to commit to making a certain number of MEET AND GREET events each month, are generally able to make it to other scheduled community events, are especially patient, and especially gifted at helping newbies make friends and learn the games. Greeters are also willing to commit to spending on average a half hour each day playing All inPlay games at either the MEET AND GREET tables, or the social, or low stakes tables in order to be available to help newbies outside of Meet and Greets
Requirements for Membership
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Good table conduct
- Ability to be patient, friendly, and welcoming
- Ability to keep information confidential when required
- Ability to problem solve
- Ability to be a team player
- Ability to attend at least 75% of Meet & Greet events
- Ability to give 30 minutes a day (on average) of "floating time," time spent helping newbies outside of Meet & Greets
- Willingness to attend other community events or demos of All inPlay (where practical)
- Willingness to attend training sessions
- Basic knowledge of both games, and the ability to teach them
- Ability to answer questions about the games, their features, the company, and the website
13. Communication
To facilitate coordination between greeters, team members are required to create an MSN messenger account (or use their existing one) and share their contact info with each other and the team leader. They are also required to create an account on for-the-people so members can voice-chat with one another when needed.
14. Training
All Greeters are required to attend every training session and may be asked to participate in additional training sessions from time to time as needed.
15. Meet and Greets
Greeters will have table assignments for each Meet and Greet event (provided at least 2 days in advance of the event), and 24 hour notice must be given to the team leader if a greeter isn't able to attend.
16. Time commitment
Greeters must be able to commit to being a member of the team for a period of at least six months.
Applications
Applications will be accepted from members who have been a part of the All inPlay community for a minimum of 3 months. Interested individuals may request an application anytime after this initial 3 month period, however it should be noted that requesting an application does not mean you will automatically be accepted into the team. Every application is subject to extensive review which may include a voice chat via phone, MSN messenger, or on for-the-people. All inPlay makes all final decisions on applications.
Procedure for leaving the team
Two weeks notice is required, and must be submitted to the team leader via email.
Team Leader
All inPlay will select one Greeter to be team moderator, providing the vital day-to-day management of the team, working directly under All inPlay's Community Director. This person receives a complimentary membership as a small thank you for taking on the added responsibility. No other perks come with the job. Team leaders do this out of love for the job. But it should be noted that All inPlay *will* order an extra heap of warmth and fuzz for them! <smile>.
